From humble origins among playing cards, the Tarot of Marseilles emerged as the first family of decks that were designed for and used in fortune telling. It is the basis from which numerous other divination and playing tarot decks were designed up to this day. As such, it is a key element of the Western spiritual heritage.
This exquisite deck, designed by Jean Dodal around 1712, is presented in the form of a single-card spread that draws from the 22 major arcana only. The explanations given are not verbose but to the point. A reversed card comes with a different explanation, but lets the user straighten the card to see its positive meaning. Let the cards tell you their timeless story, simple and clear.
